______
Oh my word! When I found out I was to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, I can't even tell you how amazing it was! I have wanted to be on the show my entire life, ever since back in the days when Chuck Woolery hosted the show and you had to shop in those rooms. My Mom was ALWAYS telling me to apply because when we watched the show together (every single weeknight the last two years of her life), I would always shout out the answers before the contestants would. I am 58 now so it was in my late teens/early twenties when I started watching. I have been a lifelong fan and would tell folks far and wide that WHEN (not IF) I got on the show, I WOULD be the contestant to go to the bonus round!!
Well, I manifested this because, lo and behold, I made it to the bonus round on my show. It was a super exciting experience all the way around, even the 13 hour delay through DFW that landed me in LA at 1 AM on the day I was to tape and had to be at the studio by 6:45! 😳 Whew! I made it by the hair of my chinny, chin, chin! From the time I made it to the studio, all throughout the day, the experience could not have been more pleasant. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, efficient and professional. Pat and Vanna could not have been more amenable. Vanna even popped in when she arrived at the studio that morning to wish myself and all the other contestants good luck as we were being prepped by hair and make-up (which was really very cool)! Obviously, the show went swimmingly well since I was the one going to the bonus round.
Unfortunately, I did not win my bonus puzzle but I blame it on the airline that caused me to have only a 3.5 hour nap instead of a full night’s sleep before taping! 😂🤣 I brought my bestie with me and we were the only two to know the outcome until my airdate. Our husbands did not even know. We had a HUGE viewing party at a local restaurant where the local news channel showed up, did interviews and everything! I have officially achieved my goal of being “Jackson, Tennessee Famous”! All around, one of my most fantastic accomplishments EVER! Although I mainly auditioned to be on the show JUST TO BE ON THE SHOW, meet Pat and Vanna and spin that wheel, the $10,250 was a very nice parting gift, especially since my heating/air unit went out the Tuesday after my airdate! Bam! All very serendipitous!! Thank you SO much for making my dreams come true!
