“You are still very much in consideration for Wheel of Fortune’s Season 41 Teacher Week”! I will always remember opening up my email and seeing that message. When I opened up the email that said I made it on the show my heart started beating so fast! I grabbed my phone and called my wife. All I could say to her was, ”IT’S HAPPENING!” I said that over and over! ”IT’S HAPPENING!” ”IT’S HAPPENING!” The dream I had of being on the show might become a reality. In order to practice for the Toss Up [puzzles], I would watch Wheel every night with my TV remote in my hand. As the letters in the puzzle would pop-up I would pause my TV as soon as I knew the answer. My goal was obviously to pause it before anyone buzzed in before me!

Even after walking onto the stage for show rehearsals, it still felt like a dream. Reality still had yet to sink in. Finally, after standing next to Pat Sajak and getting my first spin on the wheel, the dream came true! One thing I will always remember from the day of the taping is that my wife and several friends were able to be in the audience. We all will have great memories of the day that will last forever. Wheel of Fortune has been a staple in my life for years. I am just hoping that I can provide a little fun for someone watching my episode.
